At Language Institute Huijts you can enrol in language courses from A to C level. During an introductory talk we assess your current level and determine which teaching material best matches your level and goals. These courses focus on everyday situations.
We offer courses for the following languages:
With private lessons you will achieve substantial improvements in a short amount of time. We study every aspect of the language in depth and assess your strong and weak points within the language to tailor a course that is perfect for you. You can also choose to practise particular subjects that you feel are important or practical for you. You dictate the pace, so we progress as quickly as you are comfortable with.
With group lessons you will be in a friendly and relaxed group with a common goal. We feel strongly about our quality of service, therefore we limit our groups to a maximum of 4 people so that every student receives individual attention throughout the lessons. With this type of lesson we progress at a slower pace in comparison to private lessons, because we accommodate more people, but our students are often happy that they have other people to study with and to motivate each other.
During the current corona crisis we offer online lessons using Zoom or Skype.
You can still come to our classrooms for private lessons or with at most 4 people. Everything in our classrooms will be disinfected before and after every lesson and we will keep 1.5 meter distance. Please wash your hands when entering and after the lesson. Students with flu symptoms are requested to stay at home.
We strictly follow the policies of the RIVM to keep our teachers and students safe.
You can register for a course throughout the year.
With private lessons we schedule you in for what days and times suit you best. You can decide how intensive you want to make the course. The course duration also depends on your wishes. You can stop when you have reached your desired level.
Group lessons are arranged for a set date and time in the week that accommodates as much as possible the majority of the group.
The CEFR is a guideline to describe the proficiency level for European languages.
The main levels are A, B and C. At level A (basic user) you still need support and guidance when speaking. At level B (independent user) you can get by independently in everyday situations. At level C (proficient user) you have reached a proficiency equal to that of a native speaker. Each level is further subdivided into 2 parts. There is A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
